The Happy Princess

"And on her lover's arm she leant,
And round her waist she felt it fold,
And far across the hills they went
In that new world which is the old:

Across the hills and far away
Beyond this utmost purple rim,
And deep into the dying day
The happy princess follow'd him."

     ---- The Day-Dream, 1842, Alfred Lord Tennyson

Did a pencil sketch and watercolor wash today; it made me think of this bit from a poem by Tennyson, so I wrote it on the painting

And here is a sort of "modern" version, after adding digital color:

Don't know if I like this version or not....
