Bible quote (Ephesians 5:22,25; 6:1)

Sadly it is common in our society for God's name to be taken in vain. Many people seem unaware of what they are doing when they use the name of God as a common expression of surprise, irritation, excitement, etc. in their speech.

To treat something which is holy and sacred as if it were just common, everyday, and ordinary ---- is to profane it.

And in spite of the fact that so many people in our modern culture use God's name with contempt, the truth is that God is the Creator and His name is above all.

If you commonly take God's name in vain and have never given it a second thought --- please think about it now. If you use His name to no purpose continually --- then, like the boy who cried wolf ---- will He hear you when you call upon His name when you are in distress and need His help?

the fruit of the Spirit

GALATIANS 5: 16-26
"I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit,
and the Spirit against the flesh;
and these are contrary to one another,
so that you do not do the things that you wish.
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are:
adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred,
contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries,
and the like;
of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past,
that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
Against such there is no law.

And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another."
